homemade granola

This is a recipe I got from my girlfriend Mickelle a while back and it is too good not to share!
Ingredients:
-canola oil
-pure maple syrup (or honey or regular syrup even)
-vanilla
-salt
-coconut flakes
-wheat germ
-sesame seeds(i leave these out because i'm too lazy to find them.)
-sunflower seeds(the pits obviously not the whole seed)
-cranberries
-chopped almonds
-old fashioned oats

To prepare:
heat together slightly(just so it's warm. not like bubbly hot or anything):
1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup pure maple syrup(or 1/2 cup honey and 1/2 regular syrup)
2 Tbs vanilla

Mix in a big bowl:
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups coconut
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup sesame seeds(I left these out since I couldn't find them. Still tasted wonderful!)
1 cup sunflower seeds(already pitted obviously.)
1 cup cranberries(or raisins)
1 cup chopped almonds
7-8 cups old fashioned oats.
mix together with the heated syrup.
spread onto cookie sheets and bake at 150 degrees for 8 hours. (I did like 6 1/2 and it was fine. It's just to dry out the oats to your desired liking.)

So after you take it out of the oven, take the edges of the tin foil and curl it over itself (if that makes sense) to separate the granola.

Not only does it make lots of healthy delicious granola, but you have enough ingredients left over to make another batch later on!

It's so yummy.
